Students from Arouca celebrated the "Pancake Day", a British tradition associated with Carnival and celebrated on the "Shrove Tuesday".
According to the tradition, "Pancake Day" is celebrated 47
days before Easter Sunday. On this day, the British used up the
ingredients that were traditionally excluded from the table during Lent,
especially milk, butter and eggs, and used them to make pancakes. They also
held pancake races!
Students were challenged to throw the pancake in the air and hit it back in the "frying pan" until they reached the finish line! They also ate delicious pancakes!
